It’s been a year like no other. It was a distressing start to 2020 as bush fires burned across Australia and the devastating reality of climate change really hit home. We then faced COVID-19 and the ensuing lockdowns. We learned an enormous amount from the challenges we faced, adapting quickly alongside our clients to a remote working environment and embracing technology and communication tools to work collaboratively. We even managed to organise some remote social club events to help combat the lockdown blues!
On reflection, we have relished this year of change. We developed resilience as individuals and as a business which has led to greater personal and organisational growth. We’ve gained a deeper understanding of what we’re capable of withstanding while continuing to deliver high-quality work for our clients and communities. And as the pandemic reshaped our personal relationships in unprecedented ways, our team and client relationships continued to go from strength to strength.
It’s time for everyone to take a much-deserved break, reflect on what we’ve faced this year and remember the things that really matter. We hope that you enjoy time with family and friends in this beautiful country that we have the privilege of working and living in.

A WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW CLIENTS
This year we're thrilled to have worked with new clients while also strengthening our impact across Australia and New Zealand in partnership with existing clients. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with collaborators and communities in both countries, and are excited to see the positive environmental outcomes that this work will have for years to come.OUR DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION JOURNEY
We took a big step on our Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) journey this year when we joined Diversity Works and signed up to the Diversity Agenda to support both Morphum and the engineering and architecture industries to become more inclusive and diverse. Our team is passionate about our culture and making Morphum a positive and inclusive place for all. This year we completed a D&I stocktake and changed both our HR policies and our recruitment panels to make them more inclusive. We’re really excited about getting stuck into the next steps on our D&I journey next year!
GROWING OUR LEADERS
This continues to be a big focus for our company. A highlight this year were the presentations from our Emerging Leaders Programme participants who each presented a leadership initiative they had developed. The presentations were considered, innovative and great evidence of the value of this programme. A wonderful effort by everyone involved!
